What it actually does
Kamply builds vertical shorts on a Mac. You approve a written brief, it generates the voice-over with ElevenLabs, derives every cut from a Whisper transcript of that take, renders a proxy for you to watch, then writes the 9:16 master. A 60-second build takes about an hour of measured wall time. The file lands in your project folder.
What this is not
It does not publish to TikTok, Reels or Shorts, and it does not make talking avatars; it renders the 9:16 file and you upload it yourself.
How it runs, start to finish
Three steps, in the order the app actually does them.
Brief, then voice-over
The AI teammate interviews you and locks a written brief, then ElevenLabs speaks the approved script. The audio exists before a single frame renders, so timing comes from real speech.
Whisper sets the cuts
Whisper transcribes the take and writes the timing file. Every cut and caption lands on a real word boundary, because nobody types timecodes by hand.
Proxy, watch, render once
A proxy pass renders first and you watch the whole short as a sequence. Only once you approve it does the 9:16 master render.

Does Kamply post shorts to TikTok, Reels or YouTube?
No. There is no scheduler and there are no social integrations. Kamply renders a finished 9:16 MP4 into your project folder and you upload it yourself. If you want something that publishes on a calendar, this is the wrong tool.
How long does a 60-second short actually take?
About an hour of measured wall time, from Kamply's own build ledger. That covers the whole path: brief, voice-over, timing, the proxy you watch, and the one full render at the end. Most of it is machine time you do not sit through.
Can it make an AI avatar or lip-sync a presenter?
No. There are no digital humans, no face swap and no lip-sync. Kamply builds motion graphics, typography, stock footage and real product shots on a 9:16 canvas with a voice-over on top. If your short needs a face, film it.
Where does the voice-over come from?
ElevenLabs generates it from the approved script, before any frame renders. Whisper then transcribes that take, so cuts and captions sit on the words the voice actually said. A short can also be timed to music instead of a voice-over.
What do I get at the end?
A finished MP4 at 9:16, plus the brief, the script, the voice take and the timing file that produced it. Those are plain files in a project folder, so another agent such as Codex can read them from outside the app.
What do I need to run it, and what does it cost?
An Apple silicon Mac on macOS 11 or later. Kamply ships as a signed and notarized DMG, not a web app and not a mobile app. There is one plan at $69 a week, $199 a month or $1,990 a year. Founding rates end 2026-09-15.
