Wanted: our second product designer

LinkedIn post · 1.91:1. Built at 1200 × 627 px.

Boxkin is an invented brand from the app’s sample library. It has no customers and no product, so every figure, name and offer in this piece is fictional. The piece itself is a finished build: it went through the same brief, checks and approval as any other.

Boxkin, a Kamply sample brand. A landscape hiring post: a handover note taped to a cardboard box reads Wanted, our second product designer, with done and next lines filled in

What the brief asked for.

From brief.md, the written brief, locked before anything was designed.

Everything in the sections below is quoted from the files this build left behind. Nothing is summarised.

Audience
Working product designers in Lisbon and nearby timezones at 20 to 200 person companies, tired of big-company job posts; second, small-team leads who share hiring posts
The one idea
Boxkin (nine people, Lisbon) is hiring a second product designer, and the job ad is written dead straight, the way a small team would leave a note on a box

What success looks like
Reads as a hiring ad within two seconds at feed size and still gets "ha, that's us" from small-team people; a designer replies or shares it

Notes

Sample wave 1, item boxkin-classified. Demo brand (fictional); every brief field took the recommended answer ("no questions"). Route pick made by the wave: R2 sits closest to "a straight-faced job ad set as a newspaper classified with one oversized line" (none of the Routes is a classified, since the known-document Spark was killed per the wave's instruction; R2 is the printed, deadpan ad).

Gut (verbatim): feel "this team is small and does not take itself too seriously"; first idea "'we're hiring' with the role and a photo of the team"; wish "job posts that read like a small ad in a local paper".

Role (fictional demo copy, BRAND.md has no open role): Product Designer, the second designer on a team of nine, Lisbon or hybrid in Portugal. One role only.

Facts allowed: team of nine, Lisbon, started in 2022. No 71%, no 2.3, no 2,400 in a hiring post.

V2 (Route 0): no real team photo exists. Use a real stock photo (Pexels) of a small team of about nine at one table, warm and unposed, mirroring the viewer; never captioned with names or presented as specific employees. Headline "We're hiring" plus the role. Lowercase rules apply: never all caps.

Never: uppercase, raw hex, product UI (none on file).

The lead visual device, and why.

From patterns.json, where each variant declares what it leads with.

Caption

Wanted: our second product designer.

Boxkin is nine people in Lisbon. We make a web app where every task is a box with one owner. To pass it on, you write a note on the box: what is done, what is next. The next person accepts it, and only then is it theirs.

We have one designer and would like two. You would work with us in Lisbon, or hybrid from elsewhere in Portugal.

To apply, write to jobs@boxkin.example with two or three things you have made and a line on why you want a small team.

Slide 1: A close-up of a kraft cardboard box lid. A cream paper note lies on it, its top-right corner lifting under a strip of yellow tape. The note reads "handover note · from the nine of us at Boxkin", then "Wanted: our second product designer.", then "done: nine of us, one designer", "next: design with us, in Lisbon or hybrid in Portugal" and "accepted by" over an empty violet line. The Boxkin logo sits top left.

What the record says
