Competitor decision brief

Visit loseit.com

What Lose It! customers say

They still have strong evidence of value in simple logging, scanning, broad tracking, and weight-loss outcomes. Their exposed flank is the combination of UI regressions, aggressive monetization, unreliable data flows, and hard-to-reach support. You can compete by making the first logging session clear, keeping core tracking predictable, and stating billing and data policies plainly.

The strongest positives are accurate-enough logging workflows, barcode and voice entry, broad tracking, and meaningful weight-loss results. The largest risks are recent UI changes, aggressive monetization, billing confusion, and weak support, with several longtime paid users threatening to leave. You can attack them by making everyday logging simpler, stating exactly what is free, and treating subscription and support decisions as trust moments.

A great App that helps me manage my diabetes

I have used Lose It! for several years and it is one of the first things I look at and plan my meals in the morning and last at night. I am able to plan my meals and find out my macros for the day, each meal, and most important, knowing my carbs so I know how much insulin I need. I am an insulin dependent diabetic and I find that my CGM and this APP are two of the best things in my arsenal to manage my diabetes, and my weight. I can enter in my recipes and find out calories, carbs, fat, protein, etc. I would say to anyone that is diabetic or that is trying to get control of their diet, that it is a first line defense in having a handle on what is going into your mouth. My doctor can look at what I am eating and can also take a look at my glucose readings helping me to manage my insulin as well. He can also look at my exercise to see what I am doing. Sure it is a bit of work, but it sure is worth it to me!

Everything is premium now

Wow so make everything premium - that will keep people from leaving and going to my fitness pal. Such a ridiculous switch and with no warning. Now you want us pay 25.00 today for something that was free yesterday

Lost 35 pounds and kept it off

I started using Lose It in early 2021, when my weight was over 200 lbs. By September of 2022 the scale showed 159.3 lbs! This morning (August 2026) it’s 159.6. At first I tracked every bite, but by learning much more about the nutrition in various foods and what are reasonable portions I stopped using it continuously but do check-ins from time to time for maintenance. The app is very powerful - none of the others even come close. Yes, there is a learning curve but it’s worth it.

Used to be OK

It’s a calorie counter. You don’t need my email, you don’t need to ask 200 questions about my emotions about why I want a calorie counter. How about you just count the calories. Used to be decent before requiring an account, now it’s Deleted!

Enough with the annoying ads every entry

Is it worth getting $10 vs annoying the users so much ??!

Success

This is a great app. It’s easy to use, I lost 25 lbs. in 4 months and never felt hungry or deprived. I decided to become a lifetime member, because I plan to continue using this to manage my caloric intake.
