What Shortbread customers say
Shortbread wins affection with spicy stories, quick reads, and appealing visuals, but users repeatedly question the cost and waiting model. Your clearest opening is a reading experience with transparent access, reliable story endings, and consistent editing. Show those differences in the first message a prospective reader sees, because content appeal alone does not resolve payment and trust concerns.

Shortbread reviews, read · 60 of 100 read one by one · 2026-08-29T19:45:05.244Z
They have a strong content pull, especially around spicy stories, visuals, and quick reading. The main competitive opening is the payment and release model: 14 of the 60 newest reviews mention expensive memberships, coins, ads, timers, or limited access, while several users also report unfinished stories and weak support. Make your value clearer before a user pays and treat completed, consistent stories as a product promise.

Not all it’s cracked up to be
Edit: I can back to write another review but you can only write one. I’m honestly so glad I never spent a penny on this app, why? It wouldn’t have been worth it. It’s kind of rare for a story to actually end on a good note or even with a legitimate end at all. Some stories disappear all together, or end abruptly with no explanations… and there are so many inconsistencies. Week after week I come back to finish the stories I’m into… that I’m invested in… only to have one end with out an end… it’s BS. At least it didn’t just disappear without a trace this time. And all the errors and bugs I’ve found, the creators said they were working on it. That was MONTHS ago. I doubt it. I had honestly considered using this platform for my own stories when I first started using it. But it’s all AI slop. If they have a plump character for the story line, the next scene… she’s super skinny. None of it consistent. And more times than not, the AI prompt has been left in the scenes. Or phases are repeated. Simple things that could have been edited out to actually make this even a little bit quality stuff but it’s like they don’t even try or care. I hold my stories with far more standards than this. Such great potential is wasted on the absolute neglect in editing and sharpening these stories…. Original review: Some of the stories are great and worth the wait, but I can’t get over some of the terrible inconsistencies with the AI getting things wrong. Not only that, but I’ve complained a few times about bugs and have been totally ignored. Also, stories will just completely disappear without a trace or just END without an actual ending. Bookmarks are supposed to hold your place, and the bookmark feature doesn’t do this. Waiting five hours between episodes is one thing, but coming back after those five hours (sometimes days later) only to have to wait another five hours is ridiculous. And the “Typically replies in 2 days” is a complete lie. I’ve messaged with concerns or complaints and it’s been WEEKS. No hint of a reply. Also, sometimes you can’t even back out of a story and have to close the app just to get to the home a screen. I’m so done with this broken app.

It’s a pretty solid app. The stories are really good. I just wish it was cheaper to read the stories.
