What Precip customers say
They have a clear wedge around rainfall at an exact location, and users apply it to watering, farming, prescribed burns, travel, and outdoor work. Their main weakness is trust at the moment of use, with reviews reporting inaccurate totals, broken saved locations, device bugs, and regressions after updates. Pricing and restrictive free access add a second opening because users want to verify the data before committing.

The newest 60 reviews show a real split: users value exact-location rainfall for gardening, farming, travel, and outdoor work, but many report accuracy problems, unstable locations, and regressions after updates. Pricing and access limits are the clearest churn risk, especially when the free tier hides too much before users can judge the data. Reviews about the app itself were all relevant to them, so none were set aside.

I really like this app
I accidentally added locations unaware that I was doing it wrong. I contacted the developer who immediately replied with instructions that worked. However, I can't figure out how to eliminate notifications from the locations for several of these locations I've enabled without eliminating ALL notifications. So I eliminated all three locations except the one where I am.
A must for the Gardener
I love this app. The ability to set a specific location helps me determine whether or not I need to water the garden. “It rained while I was sleeping…. check the app” “Did it rain while I was away? ….check the app” AWESOME This app doesn’t evaporate like a rain gauge. WICKED AWESOME
DOESN’T WORK on IPADS
I paid for the app, now I have to delete it every single day and reload it from the app store to work. Epic fail!!!!
Frozen?
Have had this app since July, 2026. Seems to be a nice app so I purchased it (year’s subscription), but, since then, I found I have to restore the app frequently. This is before and after reinstalling it. I was having issues with no information showing up in areas of the app that should have registered readings like live radar, soil conditions, soil temperature, rain totals seeming a bit off, etc. Have kept the app updated so it seems unlikely it should be so sporadic as to how it functions. This issue happens whether using my iPhone or iPad to check rain and weather conditions. Would really appreciate it working properly as my main purpose is to help keep a good watering schedule in place for some recent, new planting I’ve done. An intact watering schedule means money saved.
Very helpful
As far as I can tell it seems pretty accurate.
Grossly Inaccurate
Not even faintly close to accurate. The free version only gives the past 24 hours.

No more wondering how much precipitation while away from the lake home
Booger
Love it
